Every day, our skin is exposed to a wide range of harmful external factors – sunlight, frost, wind, dust, smog, exhaust fumes and other environmental pollutants. And as if that weren’t enough, it constantly produces sebum, which acts like a magnet for impurities. Make-up and UV-filtering cosmetics only worsen the already dire situation. 😉
It’s easy to imagine the consequences of improper facial cleansing. Pathogens and toxins left on the skin’s surface promote the formation of free radicals, trigger inflammation and lead to the appearance of numerous blackheads. They also damage the skin’s natural hydrolipid barrier, making it even more vulnerable to irritation.
So why isn’t a single product, like micellar water, enough to combat all this? Because some impurities can only be removed by oils (as fats do not dissolve in water). Two-step cleansing is essential – it allows the removal of both hydrophobic and hydrophilic pollutants!
1. MAKE-UP REMOVAL
In the first step, we thoroughly remove make-up, sun protection filters and sebum using a cleansing emulsion or balm. Both products effectively dissolve even waterproof make-up and provide excellent skincare benefits thanks to their active ingredients. They are suitable for all skin types – including oily and acne-prone skin.
Emulsion
- oat beta-glucan – a powerful antioxidant that stimulates collagen production, smooths wrinkles, provides longer-lasting skin hydration than hyaluronic acid, and has antibacterial properties
- sweet almond oil – thanks to its unsaturated fatty acids, it acts as a natural emollient: it regenerates the hydrolipid barrier, moisturises and softens the epidermis. It penetrates the skin effectively, reducing the appearance of wrinkles and forming a protective barrier against harmful environmental factors. It nourishes, softens and smooths the complexion, improves blood circulation, and contains ferulic acid and vitamin E, which protect against free radical damage. Ferulic acid also stimulates collagen synthesis and lightens discolouration
- vitamin E – acts as an antioxidant and helps to replenish intercellular cement deficiencies
- witch hazel and damask rose hydrosols – soothe, cleanse, and refresh the skin, while adding a radiant, youthful glow
- panthenol – accelerates wound healing and soothes irritation
Balm
- shea butter – rich in unsaturated fatty acids, it prevents skin dryness, soothes irritations, and speeds up the healing of blemishes and breakouts
- sweet almond oil – smooths, softens and moisturises the skin. The ferulic acid it contains penetrates deeper layers, stimulates collagen fibre synthesis, slows down ageing processes and reduces the visibility of wrinkles
- canola oil – forms a protective barrier that prevents excessive water loss from the epidermis, smooths shallow scars, strengthens blood vessels, and reduces redness
- borage seed oil – has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and antifungal properties; purifies pores without clogging them, calms acne lesions and pustules, improves skin firmness and elasticity, and deeply hydrates
2. CLEANSING
In the second step, we wash away remaining impurities, including residue from products used in the first stage. We recommend using vegan cleansing cosmetics with a pleasant texture and fragrance – gentle yet highly effective. They are suitable for all skin types, including dry, sensitive, and irritated skin.
Detoxifying Gel
- detoxifying diatomaceous earth contains very high amounts of silica, which stimulates regenerative processes, soothes irritations, improves skin tone, and participates in the synthesis of collagen and elastin fibres – resulting in firmer skin and reduced visibility of wrinkles
- sweet almond oil, thanks to its unsaturated fatty acids, acts as a natural emollient – it regenerates the hydrolipid barrier and moisturises; it penetrates the skin very well, reducing the appearance of wrinkles and protecting against harmful external factors; it nourishes, softens, smooths the complexion, and improves blood circulation; it contains ferulic acid and vitamin E, which prevent damage caused by free radicals, with ferulic acid additionally stimulating collagen fibre synthesis and lightening pigmentation
- raspberry seed oil contains linoleic and α-linolenic acids as well as vitamins A and E, which have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties; it strengthens the hydrolipid barrier of the epidermis, providing excellent moisturisation; it accelerates wound healing
Refreshing Foam
- lemon fruit extract is a powerful antioxidant (with anti-ageing effects) and a natural exfoliant (facilitates removal of dead skin cells); it wonderfully brightens and illuminates the skin.
- grape seed oil soothes irritations and accelerates wound healing; due to its high vitamin K content, it is excellent for caring for couperose-prone skin; it moisturises and improves elasticity thanks to its fatty acid content (up to 86%).
- hyaluronic acid is one of the most hygroscopic molecules found in nature (capable of binding water up to 1000 times its own weight) and is the most important component of the extracellular matrix of connective tissue, capillary walls, and desmosomes – it intensely moisturises and tightens the skin, reduces the appearance of wrinkles, and alleviates irritation and inflammation.
Two-step facial cleansing supports a healthy microbiome, enhances the absorption of active ingredients, and slows down the ageing process – it is the foundation of effective skincare.
